We're closed, I said. The words seemed to fall on deaf ears. The woman walked right past me,

as though I had suddenly become invisible.

Couldn't she see that everyone else had left the library?

I was holding my black leather handbag in the crease of my left elbow.

That should give her the idea that I was getting ready to close the library for the day.

But no, she'd totally ignored me.

I shouldn't let this bother me, but her arrogance got to me anyway. Maybe she wouldn't have

acted like this if I wasn't so petite. Gosh, I looked like a teenager, even though I was rapidly approaching my mid-20s.

I turned my attention to the woman as she walked over to a shelf and scanned through it,

the tips of her right index finger briefly touching the spine of each book she glanced at.

This didn't even make any sense.

Why would anyone walk into a library at nine at night? Deciding that I had enough of her attitude, I walked over to her. Hey, I said. My voice firm enough

to knock off her arrogance. But she didn't budge. My gaze suddenly dropped to the well-defined

ass in her skimpy black dress. I tried not to gawk at her endowment. But how could I possibly

ignore the fact that she had the body of one of those celebrities who had gone under the knife?

I gulped, and then I reminded myself I had only approached her so I could ask her to leave. I opened my mouth to speak. She chose that

exact moment to turn around. I didn't realize how close to her I was standing until she was facing me.

Her breasts barely two inches away from mine.

I wasn't prepared for what I saw.

The woman was so gorgeous, my heart throbbed at the sight of her.

Baby blue eyes worked with thick, long lashes, giving off an angelic look I had never seen

on a blonde.
