Time for another edition of the Carolina Insider Jones and Adam here with you.

And this is a special edition of the show.

Not really a, maybe it is a Tarial throwback, like an extended, beefed up tar heel

throwback as we take a look back at them to not just one game, but we're looking back

to an entire time period and an entire season for Carolina baseball. Of course,

the Diamond Heels going to start ACC tournament play later this week. They've positioned

themselves nicely to be a national seat in the NCAA tournament. It feels like a team that has a

chance to compete on a national level. It has all

season long. And this year comes on the 20th anniversary of a season that everybody associated

with Carolina baseball kind of universally acknowledges as one of the most important teams, seasons in Carolina baseball history,

and that's back in 2006 when Carolina made a run to Omaha,

which sparked four consecutive years, five times and six years of going to the College

World Series and really felt like it changed the tenor of the

Carolina baseball program.

Yeah, it was nice to see this team reunite at Boshimer Stadium this year during the Georgia

Tech Series and see all those guys again.

This is one of my very favorite Carolina teams just kind of across the athletic department.

I think the Alabama Super Regional game two is one of the most important games of Carolina

athletics across the athletic department.

So this is a group that they've earned the Tar Heel throwback honor, which we don't take lightly.
