Today we're coming from the Institute for Government and we're in the office of the Director

Bronwyn Maddox and apparently it was Kitchener's dressing room so... I have absolutely no evidence for

that. I'm an evidence-based institution so I can't offer you that but that's my guess. And that's

why it's echoey because he had quite a space at dressing room. Helen Thompson is with us as well

before becoming director here Bronwyn was editor of Prospect magazine and before that for an editor

of the Times and also Washington Bureau Chief I believe. That is right. You have some inside belt

way knowledge from back then and continuing interest in it and this is a week after which two

documents have emerged one of which I haven't read I don't know if anyone else here has read which

is the Bob Woodwood book but we've read enough about what's in it. The other is the now notorious

anonymous op-ed in the New York Times where an official in the administration claimed to represent

the resistance and he said he or she said I suspect it's he that he was part of the steady state

not the deep state that is trying to moderate the excesses of a Trump presidency in the spirit of

a Trump agenda and this raises a whole host of questions I think about how democratic politics

now works and if we start with the inside belt way question about Trump and try and move out from
