And I like that. I think that works. Yeah, cool, but I'm trying something a little different now we're doing all video, which means I'm going to introduce you to people who may be unfamiliar with you and your work, and then at the end of that, I'm going to get you to correct my introduction. Yeah, great. So everybody let me introduce you to Dr.

And I, I mean Matt's been on the show a few times and we chat and he also happens to have a really good website footnotes to Plato.com and some really kick-ass discussions on his YouTube channel that are either video and audio and that's some things that I've really

1:34.0

enjoyed over the last year has been Matt's really kind of intense but profound

1:41.6

philosophical and like meaty discussions that remind you that the internet can still be good.

1:48.4

Welcome aboard Matt. What did I get right and wrong? What else? What are we missing from your

1:52.2

from your bio? Well I'm definitely trying to bring more goodness to the internet and I know you are too and so you, maybe we combine forces.

2:05.1

But yeah, that's that's it pretty much. I mean, you know, I'm lucky enough to teach in this program at C.I.S. that allows me not only to be a professor of philosophy, but you know to really take philosophy as a way of life and as a spiritual practice seriously as you know it's yeah it's it's got a religious and mystical dimension to it and so often that gets left out of the academy.

2:34.4

Yeah and philosophy without

2:38.8

you know life or disconnected from life is just I I think, it's not only irrelevant, it's worse than irrelevant, it actually does serious damage to our civilization and it removes knowledge from the world and I think that's catastrophic and so yeah I teach in this great program and this book was my attempts to introduce Whitehead, but I think really to bring Whitehead into another conversation, which is more general.

3:14.0

Yeah.

3:15.0

A question about science itself, its relationship to an ensold universe, you know, and so we don't need to dwell on Whitehead in this conversation, but certainly that's what my book is focused on to showing his relevance to this larger.

3:33.0

So that was the key, right?

3:35.0

I'm going to hold it up.

3:36.0

I was saying to Matt, Physics of the World Soul, there you go.

3:39.0

And as you can tell, I was pretty into it.

3:42.0

I was saying to Matt before we hit record. I think and I don't mean like I think like it's a weird list. I can't remember a better book I've read this year. So I think this is the best book I've read in 2021. Thank you and congratulations.

3:55.6

I have you to say. Thank you. Yeah, absolutely. And you were kind of talking about the shortcomings of philosophy just then and I venture that Whitehead would agree with you because coming out of reading your book that's one of those he was kind of like a scientist in philosopher in that order as far as I can tell from your book and had and consequently had some really good critiques and again, dare I say, updates slash improvements of both of those disciplines.
