James is a fellow podcaster whom I first heard on Thaddeus Russell's show Unregistered.

He made a few brief references to Ursula Leguin which weren't quite

picked up on in that exchange so I thought to myself, ah the time has come I'll be having that and so I did and so here we are there is before we begin the slight

question of whether I need to issue a spoiler warning for classic literature there

certainly are spoils ahead, but I actually don't think they would ruin

a first reading for most people and may even enhance it. Nevertheless, spoilers ahead and other than that, enjoy.

How are you? I'm good. For 7 a.m. on a cold Monday morning in

Southern Tasmania, I'm doing pretty good. How cold is cold? It's single digits Celsius obviously but you know you when Antarctica is your neighbor you get half the year

Like this but it's it's kind of pleasant. like it we have open fires and all this sort of stuff which is impossibly

exotic when you grew up on the mainland Australia and you're instead taught how not to die in a fire or start them.

And then you move down here and you have to learn

how to do it.

It is just under 100 degrees Fahrenheit in Texas today.
