We're talking tomatoes today with Carol Conair of the old farmers almanac.

Tomatoes is a topic, Carol, I think everyone has an opinion on, everyone has a hot take,

and everyone has their own flavors, literally, and

also styles of tomatoes that they like to grow.

So I kind of am curious, if you have a tomato hot take, like do you have something that you think about growing tomatoes or a particular variety that you just feel very passionately about?

Oh, I'm all about the heirlooms. I love heirloom varieties. I think they do better. You know, I feel like I can grow them.

I just put a ton of those kinds of varieties in my garden personally.

But like you said, I think that people are really all about the taste, but I also really like the taste. I like that they add, they're kind of got their tougher texture, you know, I like roasting them, I like doing roasted sauces with them. So to me that's been the most successful

tomato growing that I've had because I think that you know they're prone to that leaf rod and all

the rest but those seem to do really well the

airlums seem to be a little hardier on my end of things.

Nice nice yeah I would say I used to grow my tomatoes for aesthetic like I'd grow a

beautiful purple tomato

or like, you know, a sort of like yellow purple combo,

etc.
