Today I've got Malika Crawford and Benjamin Clymer here with me.

We're going to be looking at one major celebrities watch collection, but we're going to use it to zoom out and talk more broadly about trends, tastes, how they change over time, and how they're changing right now.

The celebrity is the one and only Sir Elton John.

Nearly a thousand pieces of his estate are at auction at Christie's this month

including more than 30 watches.

Malika and I went to preview these watches just a couple of weeks ago and I think we both had a ton of fun.

The collection is perfectly out in.

Super loud but also represents a lot of classic watchmaking.

It also seems to somehow represent perfectly where watch collecting is at in 2024.

I couldn't help but feel as if this collection had appeared say five years ago,

watch nerds might not have cared as much.

So it got me thinking about how trends and tastes change and how they're changing. Of course our own
