podcast, we're exploring and dissecting the history and the evolution of the horror genre,

one subgenre at a time. But we're currently in the middle of a hiatus between our seasons.

Earlier on this year, we finished our Nature Bites back season. And we'll be back later this year for a man-made monsters season.

But we're just dropping a little episode, a bonus episode this week, because this week sees the release of the new Christopher Landon horror movie, Drop.

And I got the chance to chat to its director, Christopher Landon, about making

drop, a little bit about his experience on Scream 7, and a bit about the upcoming Happy Death

Day 3, which was announced earlier this week. Later on in the episode, I'm also going to

play you a little preview of what we've got going on on Patreon this week. We kicked off our

discomfort mini-season in which Becky Dark and I are going to be discussing some of the darkest,

doing? What's up, Mike? Christopher, tell me a little bit about kind of how you came to this project.

What kind of appealed to you about this story and this script initially?

So the project, the producers brought me the script and they had, were very early stages in development.

So it was a first draft.

And I, it was such a page turner.

You know, it felt like a classic Hitchcockian thriller to me, and I couldn't put it down.
