You can't help but be amazed by this moving circus. You go from time to time and people cheer you up. You feel like you're someone, you know, you're in the car waving, waving to you know, you go from time to time and people cheer you up. You feel like you're someone,

you know, you're in the car waving to guys, you know, millions of guys, you know, roadside.

And, well, you know, it's kind of exciting, isn't it? And there's all the excitement.

There's, you know, I was a younger journalist at the time. And so, and the writers were my age, you know, so you had kind of a connection, and then I grew and, you know, grew older and I could have been their father, so I had a different relationship with them. Now it could be the granddad, you know, I could be the dad of the D.S.'s, so, but I mean, it's kind of, there's kind of a Tour de France family.

And that's, you know, kind of a token of how, I could I say, emotionally involved people

are with the Tour de France, is that there's not a single ex-rider that doesn't, you know,

who doesn't try to come back on the Tour de France in some capacity as a driver, as a consultant,

work for a sponsor.

You go to the Village Depart in the morning, you know, there's about 80 or probably your 100 ex-pros doing something there.

Yeah, the Tour de France is addictive.

Sometimes, you know, July is kind of synonymous of the Tour de France for a Frenchman.

So that's how we got involved in that.

Well, let's start from the very beginning.

Well, that was a little segment from the episode. A couple of episodes ago, the history of the Tour de France.

I recorded that with Francois-Thomézot while I was over there at the Tour de France, an opportunity I couldn't resist.

And a great opportunity for me to learn about that great race.
