Summary

Everyone's favourite Swedish polymath returns to the show for a discussion about the Black Pope, Anton LaVey, himself.

This is on the occasion of the release of Carl's latest book, Anton LaVey and the Church of Satan. It's the biography LaVey boths needs and deserves. So we talk a little bit about his life but mostly we examine his legacy, what he might think of today's cancel culture and whether or not the ol' devil has got his dues yet.

It's a great chat and had both Carl and I reminiscing about our own wayward youths.

Enjoy!

I think the main thing is that over these past few years,

you know, regardless if it has to do with the pandemic or

isolation or us moving whatever, it's just that I write more and more and more.

So I find that things are changing a little bit in my life that you know I used to not have a like a compulsive attitude towards music but I I made a lot of music and you know I wanted to return to that space because it's sort of irrational and emotionally

2:08.7

fulfilling whereas writing of course is more like you know rational intellectual and this thing so I think I can

2:17.5

foresee that writing is actually taking more and more place and space in my life and I'm all for it but I don't think I will ever be able to leave the other ones that photography and feelmaking and as you say music because it's not the same it's very different but it has that kind of

2:40.7

similar thing where you know where the hell does this come from I have no idea and I don't think I am going to even try to answer where it comes from

2:49.0

but there's different things that pop up and they need the different treatment in a way.

2:54.5

Yeah. So would you say you maybe a few years ago might have been a filmmaker writer now maybe you're a writer, filmmaker.

3:03.0

Yeah, possibly.

3:04.0

I mean, there are also external things that decide these things because, well, as everyone knows, we're not only who we are,

3:12.2

we're also, to great example of other people
