The longest Psalm in the Bible is Psalm 119. It has been called the Psalm of the Scriptures because it concentrates on one thing, the amazing sufficiency of God's word for our lives.

Open to Psalm 119 today and open your heart to the Lord as we join Scott Pauli in this study.

It is our prayer that through God's truth, you will find all you need. Before we move any further in our study of Psalm 119,

go on to the next section, I want to pause today and show you what I think is one of the great

open secrets to the victorious Christian life.

And it is emphasized three times in this one section in Psalm 119 that is found in

verse 41 to 48. I alluded to it just briefly, just a passing remark about it in our last study,

but let me elaborate on it if I may today. Would you read three verses with me in this section?

Psalm 119, verse number 42, we read this. So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me,

for I trust in thy word. Verse 43, and take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for I have hoped in

thy judgments.

And then again, in verse 46, I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be

ashamed.

Do you hear it?

The answer, the mouth, the speaking. Talk, talk, talk. Now, the Christian experience has

to be more than just talk. It has to be more than just words. We're plainly taught that in

scripture. And yet, at the same time, our words are to express the reality that's in our heart and mind.

The psalmist prayed in Psalm 19, let the words in my mouth and the meditation of my heart

be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

So our mouth and our heart are to be one.

The Lord taught that out of the abundance of the heart,

the mouth speaketh. And so the Lord wants you to use your mouth. He wants you to open your mouth.
