Let's start with a nice problem to have.

Planmakers have got far more buyers than they can cater for and right now the world's top

airlines and plane manufacturers are gathered at Farnborough in the south of England for its air show and the BBC's Theollegate is there.

Take us there. What's going on around you?

Well, this is one of the biggest aerospace events of the year and a normally relatively

sleepy airfield that focuses on private jets about an hour's drive south of London

suddenly becomes the center of the global aerospace industry.

So just looking out in front of me, I can see the US Air Force and Navy stand, military

planes.

There's an anti-submarine aircraft, there's a couple of fighters, a little bit further down, there's an A350 jet that belongs to Air India, British Airways has got a jet here, there's basically aircraft as far as the eye can see. It's a Nav Geek's dream. But also, obviously behind the scenes

there's an awful lot of business going on and this is an industry where business is measured,

not in millions, not even in hundreds of millions but in billions. I mean that show it's really

well known for announcing major deals isn't it? Has there been many of both this

year? This year it's been a little bit more low-key on the commercial side and that's largely

because of events that have preceded it so we know that Boeing has other issues to deal with.

It's going through a safety and quality control crisis.

So Boeing hasn't brought any commercial aircraft to the show.
