Let's start off with a trigger warning because the following Bible verse is beyond detestable.

I don't think our audience needs further evidence that the Bible is disgusting,

but just in case, allow me to read Deuteronomy 22, 28, 29.

If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged,

he must pay 50 pieces of silver to her father.

Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her and he will never be allowed to divorce her.

Whether or not the victim gets to determine whether or not she wants to go through with a marriage

to her attackers isn't clear. This should not be a negotiation between her attacker and

her father. Forcing the attacker to marry his victim is not bringing justice to the attacker,

and forcing him to pay her father further objectifies the woman. I support victims. I condemn

this book that many call the word of God. Victims, you deserve better. Audience, we are all better

I wasn't supposed to be hosting tonight, so I've kind of been thrown in, but that's all cool. It means I get to work with you, Jim, which is something I've wanted to do for a long, long time, and I'm genuinely very excited about I think we talked about it at the back cruise, didn't we?

And so my memory is very confused.
