At least none of you are vampires new to the nook and to tales to terrify, which this is, and I, your host, Santoro, Lawrence P., ask you to unwrap, choose a beverage, warm or chilled, scoop a bowl of snack, find a partner for to snuggle with tonight, because tonight we have music and a tale that will chill. let me ask, was I a bit brusk in shuffling you into the nook last week, a bit brisk perhaps

in shoeing you out? You have my apologies. It was cold for the first time this season.

We're saving heat, and Mahler, the ink-black, well, you know who Mahler is by now. Maler always tries

to scamper when the door is open for too long. So, winters, we try to keep the place shut,

tight, as much as possible. And it is coyote mating season, so I'm told. People are being warned. Chicagoans are being warned about coyotes on the side streets and in the alleys. It's mating season.

The coyotes, the city, is released,

so to keep down the rat and vol and bunny populations,

well, they've been neutered, so I'm told,

so maybe they're just out for a little fun,

during the season, yes?
