This is Tales to Terrify. Good evening, children of the night, and welcome.

We're just a little more than a week away from Halloween,

and exactly a week away from our Halloween episode.

This year we've got something extra special, a little more damp than usual, too.

The winners of our nautical flash fiction contest, featuring three runners-up and our first place winner, in addition to an

extra not-so-notical tale for a little added treat. We've had these winners in our pocket for a little

bit now, and I'm excited to share them with you, so make sure you tune in for that. But with the close of the month,

also comes the closing of our current submissions period. That's right, we'll be putting the

lid back on our bubbling cauldron for another few months as we sort through all the delightfully

twisted morsels we've collected so far,

which, I might add, is no small task.

A huge thank you to our slush readers, and especially our fiction editor, Meredith,

for keeping our heads, mostly above water, and selecting some ghoulishly glorious fiction to feed our infernal machine.

For anyone who submitted a story and not heard back, soon, I promise.
