It's been just under a week since the brackish waters parted to reveal the entrance to our latest flash fiction contest, and we've had some horrific aquatic tales slither into the

submissions pile already. But we want more. Help us stir the sediment and unleash as many

horrors of the deep as we can dredge up.

Undead pirates, mystery ghost ships, haunted lighthouses, forbidden islands, bloodthirsty monsters from the deep.

If it's in, on, of, or by the open water, we want to hear it.

Stories, of course, can be up to 1500 words, and since this genre's so near and dear to our

editorial staff, we've doubled the grand prize this go to $50 for first place.
