As promised, this week we enter La Belle Province, Quebec, and find ourselves in a sleepy little

community, just north of the border with Vermont.

It was a classic fixer-upper.

A young couple had purchased the old farmhouse with big dreams.

Loads of character, the realtor had said, beaming. A home full of potential. What he'd

really meant, of course, was it was old and run down. To say the house was short on creature comforts was an understatement.
