This is Tales to Terrify. Good evening, children of the night, and welcome.

I've got a few updates for you before we get to our stories this week.

First, thanks to the hard work of two of our intrepid associate editors,

Julia Zellman and Meredith Morganstern, Tales to Terrify,

will be hosting our first ever Flash Fiction Contest,

which will open in a couple of weeks.

Whether you're cooped up at home and need a project,

or you're working during this frightening time and need an outlet to express your darker side,

we encourage you to let the shadows out, to channel them onto the page in a delicious little morsel of flash fiction.

Here's how it works.

We provide you with an image prompt of a frightening piece of art, and you let your imagination run wild,

either simply drawing inspiration from the image

or interpreting the story the image tells and making it your own.

All within just one thousand words.
