This week, our meandering tour takes us through the quaint towns and rugged wilderness of New Hampshire.

We're arriving just in time, right in the middle of the legendary turning of the leaves,

a sight of such vibrant colors at its peak that it draws tourists from all over the world.

With such broad expanses of dense mountain forest, it's a perfect place to experience the

But with so much untamed wilderness, it's easy to imagine how, even in our age of GPS and satellite imaging,

Despite the gorgeous scenery, New Hampshire's Mount Washington, with its rugged, sometimes barren

terrain, is one of the most challenging sections of the famous Appalachian Trail. In fact, Mount Washington is often considered

the most dangerous small mountain in the world, boasting a death toll almost half that of the

substantially taller and seemingly more formidable Mount Everest. So what makes such a relatively little peak, little and the grand
