I hope you're packed and ready to go, because this week we're headed through the state of New Jersey,

and we've got plenty of sights to see.

Few states embrace the strange and mysterious side of their heritage, the way New Jersey does.

But when your history is brimming with the unexplained the way Jersey's is, well, I suppose it's hard to ignore.

In fact, there's an entire website, Weird New Jersey, that's dedicated to cataloguing and sharing tales of the odd goings-on

in the Garden State, both historical legends and firsthand personal encounters.

But if there's one place in New Jersey where we're most likely to get the biggest bang for our

paranormal buck, that title goes to a broad stretch of New Jersey wilderness known as the Pine Barons.

Considering its proximity to the sprawling metropolises of Philadelphia and New York,

a surprising majority of the pine barrens more than one million acres is largely untouched.

Dense trees and foliage broken only by the occasional rushing road or river.
