Good evening, Children of the night, and welcome to California.

Well, we've officially made it to the west coast, all the way from where we started in the east.

It's been a bit of a meandering journey so far, but I help you've enjoyed the sights we've seen along the way.

This week we find ourselves in the golden state.

While there are plenty of tales of dark deeds, mysterious happenings, and an almost endless selection of hauntings to choose from, we're going to venture away from the noise and

chaos of the big cities and take a drive down the winding, scenic roads

of Big Sur. If you've never been, Big Sur is a rugged, sparsely populated section of the

California coast, between San Francisco and Los Angeles, framed on one side by the Santa Lucia

Mountains, and on the other side

by the Pacific Ocean. It's known for its incredible seaside views and amazing state parks

that are popular destinations for the outdoorsy types. It's an idyllic setting for a hike,

or to do a little camping, but venture out into the vast wilds of Big Sur to enjoy the peace and solitude,

especially around dusk and dawn, and you may find yourself far less alone than you had planned.

Since the time of the Spanish conquistadors, the Santa Lucia Mountains have been known as home to something darker and far more foreboding than the typical wildlife that roams central California.
