Good evening, children of the night.

I have one movie to briefly comment on before we get on to our story for the night.

I watched the 2015 film, We Are Still Here.

As is my custom, I went into the screening without knowing anything about the

movie aside from it being billed as a horror movie. After seeing the movie, I took a look at its

Rotten Tomatoes page, and as of right now, it has a 95% rating. And right next to it, from non-critics,

a 48% audience rating.

I won't go into too much detail and steal the opportunity to be surprised by the movie,

but it features a haunted house that may or may not have the spirit of the couple who moves in dead sun,

but it definitely does have the malevolent spirits that wake up every three

decades who demand sacrifice. The house also has creepy neighbors who love plot exposition.

The movie goes over some familiar ground that I haven't really seen since the 90s, which is both

good and bad, because some of that we really should have

left in the 90s. Oh, and for any of you aspiring writers, when the protagonists are getting

freaked out in their haunted house, could you have the decency to have them run out screaming

...
