Submissions, thank you for everyone who submitted stories during our first open submissions period in quite some time.

Once we get a bit better feel for the flow of moving stories through our process,

we hope to have more open submission periods.

We very much want to cut down on the turnaround time of stories between

submissions and airing. I'll tell you two little tidbits behind the scenes. The first you've heard

before. But it still stands true. Our dearly missed, departed founding host, we haven't run out

of stories he accepted for airing. Those stories are now in the single digits,

but we've got even more from Harry Markov, our first editor, quite a few more from Cher Eves,

the good number of the ones that I approved while I did my turn as editor, and then a few more

from Rock Manor, who was now over on his own podcast at Manor House. The second tidbit

builds on that. In the past, we haven't done things in any semblance of chronological order,

just in whatever order we sort of felt like. Now, it's a priority on the stories that have

collected a film of dust and then trying to piece them together to fit our target

runtime, which is a pretty fuzzy number, to be honest. But I think you knew that, dear listener.

Oh, I'm getting away for myself. The second tidbit is that the second story you'll hear

tonight has four years of dust on it. You heard me right. It's been four years since it has been submitted until this evening.

Philip Oldham and Scott Silk don't want a story they give the thumbs up to languish in our file server for four years before it makes its way to your ears.

And that's why we've had submissions closed for so long.
