Summary
Talen Horton-Tucker and Austin Reaves don't play the same style of game and both have had wildly different seasons in terms of expectations and their performance relative to them. But, as the Lakers head into the All-Star break, both project to be key performers and can build on a string of good performances -- particularly in their last game against the Warriors. Pete, Mike, and Darius discuss both THT and Austin, offering thoughts on the growth in each of their games, how they've been positive contributors of late, and what the next steps are to get the best out of both in the team's final 25 games.

| 0:06.0 | Just the Lakers. |
| 0:07.3 | You're kidding. |
| 0:08.6 | That is really a compliment. |
| 0:12.8 | I was pleased to see you smile at the top bar show because once the game starts, you have a game face. |
| 0:17.8 | You don't smile much out there. |
| 0:20.4 | I don't think you have to do things for money anymore. Correct. What's up, Laker fans? Welcome to the Laker Filmroom podcast, brought to by the Blue Art Podcast Network. I'm Pete, joined by Darius and Mike. And today we're going to talk about two of the younger Lakers players, Talen Horton Tucker and Austin Reeves. Darius, you got a good look at them the other night. |
| 0:38.8 | And they've both had quite different paths to get here. |
| 0:42.3 | And they're quite different players, even though I think they're both guard forward type guys. |
| 0:46.0 | But I think they'll both be important factors in where we go this season. |
| 0:50.9 | I'm very curious hearing your on the ground perspective of those guys against Golden State, |
| 0:56.0 | they played pretty well. And I think that what they did in that game will be a big part of what |
| 1:00.1 | we do going forward. So let's start with THT because I think he's been the more up and down player. |
| 1:06.3 | I think over the course of the season, it'd be easy to say that he's been a disappointment, |
| 1:10.8 | relative the expectations. And if you even wanted to go forward, over the course of the season, it'd be easy to say that he's been a disappointment, |
| 1:16.1 | relative the expectations. And if you even wanted to go further, there might be even like some buyer's remorse around the fact that like Alex Caruso is now a Chicago Bowl and |
| 1:20.7 | playing well there. And THT has been so up and down for the Lakers. And the nature of the decision |
| 1:26.7 | making the way it was framed at least |
| 1:28.3 | is that, well, they couldn't have both and they chose THT. Right. And so there's been a little bit of |
| 1:35.1 | that like Luca versus Trey Young sort of thing going on with like the Lakers internally around, |
| 1:42.7 | not internally like within the organization, |
