The summer months are often a time when families travel together, perhaps vacation, a family reunion, or just a quick trip to Grandma's house.

Growing up, one of my favorite things was the annual summer family vacation.

I absolutely looked forward every year to those few days when our

family would pack our bags, load up in the car, and head off on some adventure to some

place. I've been reflecting on that a little bit recently because isn't it funny that sometimes

our fondest memories are not of the great things we did or the beautiful places that we went,

but the funny things that happen along the way, sometimes even the difficulties that now many years later you look back and you chuckle and you think about what you learn through it and how the family got through it.

You see, family road trips are either miserable or they are wonderful, and much of it has to do

with our attitude towards it. This summer, we're going to do something very special. This summer,

we're not taking a geographical trip. We're taking a spiritual trip.

We're going to walk through the Book of Philippians.

I'm thrilled to study this book of the Bible with you again.

Most of you who've been with us in our study for a long time will know that very often I reference this book of the Bible as my favorite book.
