0:15.7	Welcome to the Busseley podcast. We're in season 8 episode 15 and today we are talking about book direct. The whole Boosty podcast is about direct bookings, but now more than ever on the back of
0:21.7	coronavirus crisis and how it's hit the hospitality industry,
0:24.8	how so-called partners have treated their hosts, I think now more than ever we need to be having a
0:29.1	proactive discussion about Book Direct. If anybody is listening to my last season, season 7, you'll know that the final episode,
0:35.9	episode 22, was where I broke down the last two events that I appeared and talked at and spoke out,
0:42.3	one being the More bookings direct conference which was hosted which was founded which was created by
0:49.4	Damien Sheridan and on the back of the success of that event, he has now created another book direct event.
0:58.0	And this is an event that has obviously got a little bit of a twist to it.
1:02.0	Obviously in the world that we are now living and everybody's going virtual.
1:05.2	We've got a nice little twist of this event that he's going to explain about on this show.
1:08.3	But why is direct bookings important?
1:10.4	Well, just to premise, what has happened over the course of the last couple of
1:14.8	week is that Airbnb and booking.com have gone behind hostbacks and refunded without any prior warning,
1:22.1	a large majority of hosts and property owners bookings and obviously they've got a very you know
1:28.8	a rock and a hard place here but because the lack of the communication which has caused a lot of trouble and there are people out there
1:34.7	maybe this is you watching or people that you know that are going to be tuning into this that
1:39.6	rely heavily 90% plus on AirbnbB&B, booking.com and third parties to bring in their bookings.
1:46.8	And when you do that, then this is when it's going to hurt you the most because I know people
1:52.3	that have lost thousands and their business now is
1:55.4	struggling because they didn't work on increasing their direct bookings and this is
2:00.5	why this conversation is going to be super important.
