This week we have an interview that I did with my favorite fiction writer, Vietanuan.

I did it at the Nation magazine's annual

conference, so I sound a little bit like I'm on a stage speaking in a big microphone.

Vietan Wyn is on a huge screen behind me via Zoom from actually from from Minnesota, where he was doing a talk in like six degree

weather he was in a high school he went into the principal's office got on Zoom and we did this

interview and I don't know yeah it's not sports necessarily although I do ask him about how he

feels teaching at USC where they just gave Logan Riley $110 million to be

the football coach. So other than that, though, it's about his books. It's about literature.

It's not typical fair for this show. I admit that, but Vietan Win is brilliant. And I thought

y'all would dig it. So Merry Christmas, happy holidays.

But also, I've got choice words about Dion Sanders pulling off the biggest recruitment coup.

And it's nice to use coup in a context that doesn't involve someone actually fomenting a fascist resurrection in this country.

Okay, moving on from that.

But the greatest coup in recruiting that we've seen in some time, because Dionne Sanders is the coach at Jackson State, which is an HBCU.

This is a fascinating story.
