1:30.0	Rory McElroy, Colin Moracawa, John Rom and Scotty Sheffler quickly got themselves into contention.
1:37.0	But late on Sunday, everyone's focus was on a duel between two less well-known players.
1:43.0	Will Zalatoris from San Francisco by way of Texas and Matt Fitzpatrick from England.
1:49.0	Both have played well in recent majors. Fitzpatrick made it to the final pairing at this year's PGA Championship.
1:54.0	And on the same day, Zalatoris narrowly lost in a playoff.
1:58.0	So it wasn't surprising to see the two of them trading blows down the stretch at the US Open.
2:03.0	This time, Fitzpatrick was just slightly better. He arrived at the 72nd hole, one stroke ahead of Zalatoris.
2:10.0	And after pulling his drive into a fairway bunker, Fitzpatrick hit the shot of his life.
2:15.0	A nine iron that he squeezed around the lip of the bunker and faded back to the middle of the green, 18 feet from the pin.
