So we've been in a series titled Eternal Fruit. And we're going to have a conversation in just a few

moments together with some guests up on stage. But I want to take a few seconds to just try to

outline the conversation that we're going to have and try to set us up so we can bear much fruit.

We've been in a series titled Eternal Fruit. And last week, if you missed it, you've got to go back

and listen to the

sermon from last week because it foretells where we're going as a church on how we are called to

bear much fruit. And today, what I want to argue is that the vision for us as families to bear

much fruit is actually tied to the original vision given to Adam and Eve in Genesis 1.

So if you don't know this, in Scripture, there's this idea of the law of first.

So the idea is the first time something's mentioned in the Bible, it has added weight and gives

color and context.

So an example of this would be Genesis 22 is the first time love is mentioned in the Bible.

And the first time is actually God telling Abraham,

sacrifice the son whom you love. It's really important because later when God the Father would

send Jesus for the sins of the world, it meant that he did so out of love. So the law of first,

what do you think happens when God creates humanity?

It says that he blesses them, but then he gives him a command. This is the moment where you would

assume he gives him a command to increase a number. This is the moment where you would assume he would

say to subdue the earth or to rule. No, what is the first command that God gives to humanity and all of Scripture?

Be fruitful. And I think for a lot of times, we have actually mistaken what's happening in our

world as some answer. But I would argue that a lot of the reasons why we're experiencing

so much heartache and pain and strife in
