As much as I enjoy talking with veterans from the golden age of adult film,

I'm aware that their perspectives are always those of an insider.

Their observations, experiences, and even memories are affected by the fact that they're wrapped up in the industry,

and an insider isn't always the most impartial witness. So I'm always keen to seek out

people who ended up in porn by accident, or for a short period of time, people who never

intended being part of the business. I want to hear what their fresh eyes thought of this unusual

world.

And on today's reality report we hear from one such person, a crew member on the film

Taboo American Style.

He was working in a theatre in Manhattan when he casually got offered work on the set of the film.

A Taboo American Style was a great place to start.

It was one of the last big budget films made in New York.

It had an incest theme and was directed by Henri Pachard.

It featured Gloria Leonard, Paul Thomas, Tajure, Raven, Joey Silvera and Kelly Nichols.

And it was eventually divided into four different feature films, each

of which were wildly successful. So what did our crew member think of what he saw? What were

his impressions of the people? How strange was this world to him? And when the film came to an

end, did he ever want to go back? This is Ashley West. This is the

reality report. And this is an outsider's story. It's taboo, American style. In nowhere Ha Ha We're on a road In 1986, I lived in the dressing room of an off-off Broadway theater, the theater for the new city, at 2nd Avenue and 10th Street.

It wasn't one theater, but a warrant of connected spaces tucked inside an enormous apartment building

with two 200-seat proscenium theaters and a black box studio theater on an upper floor.
