This is the Approach Engel podcast.

This is a new Pitchelist podcast, and we're really aiming to serve as that guide to baseball analytics.

Nick was talking about both for beginners and experts alike, really trying to lead you all,

you know, all the listeners through the seemingly endlessly endless sea of baseball analytics,

really trying to start with highlighting like introductory ideas or stats,

but then also really get into the nitty gritty of it, you know, what's the math behind it,

why does it matter, when does it stabilize, stuff like that.

So even when you're, you know, the baseball season is moving at a thousand miles an hour,

you're able to understand, you know, all of these new concepts that you might be seeing on social media yeah i mean there's just

so much new information that comes out and that's great that's great for someone like me who's like

knee deep in it and loves playing around with it and finding new stuff but i i totally get that

it's a pain to parse

through. Suddenly there's just some new number. What does it mean? Is that good? Is that bad? Does it

even matter? Or is it just neat? And so that's kind of, yeah, that's the idea of this podcast

is we want to help give you the context you need to understand what

makes great players great both in terms of real life baseball and for fantasy.

Yeah, it's even as, you know, people who are, you know, at the cutting edge of, you know,

following everything that comes out, you know, for better or worse, probably too chronically

online.

But a lot of things come and go that even like I need to do, you know, do a double take. Oh, what was this? I miss something. Need to go back. Oh, I need to go search for an article from 2014 about once some stat stabilizes. And we really want to be the guide, the one, you know, one-stop shop to give you everything you need because it is, it does move so quickly these days.

And we want to be able to catch everyone up and also be able to teach everyone new things.

The other thing I do want to say is for the sake of this, because this is the premiere, if you will, we're going to be just running through some quick hits of some of the new things that
