Revelation chapter 2, Revelation chapter 2, let me begin reading here in verse 1,

and then I'm going to hop around a little bit more.

This is a text that if you're a preacher, this one in John 316, you've talked about at least one time.

John 316, the prodigal son in Revelation 2.

Revelation 2 1 says to the angel of the Church of Ephesus right,

these things, says he, who holds the seven stars in his right hand,

who walks in the midst of seven golden lamp stands.

I know your works, your labor, your patience, that you cannot bear those who are evil.

You have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars.

You have persevered, you have patience, you have labored for my namesake, and have not become weary.

It's one of the most incredible affirmations to a church given anywhere in the scripture.

However, we come to verse four, and it says, nevertheless, I have this against you that you've left your first love.

Remember, therefore, from where you have fallen, repent and do the first works, or else I'll come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place unless you repent.

Verse six, but this you have that you hate the deeds of the Nicolations, which I also hate.

Verse seven, he who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

To him who overcomes, I will give to eat from the tree of life which is in the midst of the

paradise of god
