So joining us now on the podcast, Richard Silva. He is a brand spanking new beatwriter

for the Montgomery advertiser. Everybody's first day of work is a tough day, Richard, but

you got dropped into the hurricane there. And I'm sure you knew coming in that Auburn is a little

bit, you know, for lack of a

better word, crazy. But that's a heck of a first day. Just sort of talk us through day one on

the beat for you. Yeah. You are not short selling it at all. It was a whirlwind. The first two

hours were great. I, you had meetings meeting everybody and then i started

to catch wind of the uh the athletic director uh information that was coming out so i knew that was

coming but um luckily you know the editors and whatnot and the other writers uh they knew i was coming

and they knew i'd be new. So they had

some preliminary stuff ready to go for that. But we're really through me for a loop was when

Harsen got fired. I had gotten the email and then I called my editor. And I told them, I was like,

I think Harsen just got fired, but I'm not sure. Like, this is the first email that I've gotten from Auburn. Like, I don't know. Um, so I forwarded it to him and then, you know, they, they did a really good job kind of holding my hand and getting me through it. But it was, it was an interesting first day to say, at least, it frazzled me a whole bit. You know, it's going to be funny, Richard. I feel confident in guaranteeing this due to my knowledge of just how

Auburn is. this won't be the craziest day you ever had. You'll have a crazier one at some point, I promise you. Maybe when Lane Kiffin comes on board or Hugh Freeze, we'll see. I don't know. I don't know if I should be excited or scared for that. You can be both.

Just from talking to Auburn people that you've gotten the chance to talk to,

what's the general level of excitement, general level or general impression, I guess,

of John Cohen coming to Auburn?

Yeah, it's actually I wrote about this in a story that's coming out tonight.
