I'm just saying you're a long-time bulldog is that a fair assessment of your

situation I think that's fair Brian you're exactly right and I freely admit I'm old and getting

older but that's okay but thank you for having me and appreciate it

I appreciate you taking time to visit.

So I don't assume that you just showed up to work last Monday

and they said, hey, you're the Interim Athlete Director.

I assume there was a process and all that.

Just sort of talk us through the timeline and the decision behind you

becoming Interim Athletic Director.

Well, you know, as a matter of fact, it just happened exactly like that. I was actually at the doctor's office early Monday.

Dr. Keenum's office called. They told me Dr. Keenum wanted to see me and early, you know, about 9 o'clock I was over visiting with Dr.

Keenum and we talked about John Cohen and the decision he had made that he was headed to Auburn and Dr. Keenham asked

me if I would be willing to serve and enter a may be capacity during this time and I told him I would and we've just kind of taken off from there.

Was that a difficult decision for you?

No, not at all. Not at all. You know, I've been around here a little over 20 years and I'm a lifelong bulldog and I've always had great respect for Dr. Keenum and the great job he's done leading our at great

job he's done leading our university and when the president ask you to step up I'm more than happy to do so.

Are you enjoying yourself thus far? Well I you know enjoying a lot of things sure but

there's a lot of work to be done and we just started out Tuesday morning with a department

wide webX where we talked to our entire athletic department staff.
