Hey, Dan, and talking with me right now is John Fullington.

That is a guy, I mean, you might not be too familiar with, but he played for Mike Leach at Washington State.

It was on the first team that transitioned from Coach Paul Wolf to coach Mike Leach, then spent

a few years in the NFL now up there in Washington State.

John, thanks so much for joining me today.

Looking at that first year, the transition from what you were doing under Coach Wolf

to what you did under Coach Leach, what was the biggest takeaway for you, how different things were under Coach Leach?

I would say that I'd say the first thing was excitement from a lot of guys in the

locker room when we found out we were getting a big name right in George Leach. You know, we knew what he did at Tech and everything. So everyone was all pumped, and we all felt like, oh, we're going to win right away. We've got this, you know, this famous coach, right? And then Leach comes in and is like, you know, basically a lot of things need to change here.

You know, kind of clean time.

I think it's a tough position for coaches to come in, you know, to get a, you know, a bunch of people

that they haven't recruited and trying to make them pick their scheme and, you know, it's kind

of changed the culture. So I think he's in that, you know, kind of change the culture.

So I think he's in a, you know, every new coach is in a tough spot.

And it's tough for the players, too, because a lot of stuff needs to be cleaned up.

A lot of the culture stuff, you know, some of the players.

And that first year was super tough, if I'm being honest. But the first impressions were

like sweet, super excited. You know, we came and had a meeting. And then it was like get to work

and kind of clean house a little bit. That's that I was going to be my next question.
