Hey guys, we're about to jump into this Egg Bowl memory with Robert Bean, but this is a double shot.

I talked to him this week about the 1998 Egg Bowl, but I did talk to him earlier this summer about the 1999 Egg Bowl.

Let's do another round of Egg Bowl memories.

Joining me now, Mississippi State defensive back, former All-SCC,

defensive back, Robert Bean.

Robert, you had one of the most interesting careers as far as egg bowls go.

You only played in two, but they might be the two biggest wins in Mississippi State history as far as that particular rivalry goes.

Arriving in Mississippi State when you did in 98, coming from Georgia,

what did you know about the Egg Bowl when you got to start?

I just knew that it was a big rivalry game, you know, in-state, in-state game.

And I know that, you know, it's a, it's a tough competition.

So, you know, I just had to come out and just perform and do it as best I can, you know.

What was Coach Cheryl's message around these weeks?

Well, about that time, it's like, you know, he's big on, you know, remember your assignments,

you know, hustling to the play, hustling to the ball.

You know, he really wanted to win, so it was a hot head during the day, during the week, but we end up a cooler head to prevail, and we did a better job than Ole Miss.

We talked about the 99 Egg Bowl this past summer.
