Hello everyone, it's James Lindsay. This is New Discourses Bullets. I will give you a bullet

point summary of some topic relevant to woke Marxism here. And today we're going to

look at trauma and harm. Those words, trauma and harm. They come up a lot. We hear this.

Trauma-informed education. Trauma-informed care. Trauma-informed this. My trauma. Everybody's

trauma. Generational trauma. Blah blah blah. Trauma-trauma-trauma-trauma. Everybody's always

talking about it. Harm, harm, harm. Everything causes harm. What I want you to understand

is like everything in the woke mindset. The woke Marxist mindset. You must understand

this. If you don't understand this, you understand nothing. It's that important. Everything

in the woke Marxist mindset is understood structurally or systemically. You have to get

that first. So that means trauma and harm are structural or systemic phenomena. It's not

that somebody came and punched them in the face or vigorously insulted them and emotionally

abused them to cause them trauma or to have done harm. The harm and the trauma are the

result of the system not being the way they want it to be. Because they aren't getting

their way, it's harming them. And the buildup of that harm traumatizes them. And them wishing

things were different and not getting their way, traumatizes them. So they all experience

trauma systemically. They all experience harm systemically. But what I want to do is make

this really easy to understand. So we're going to go back as a Marxist phenomenon. So I

want to go backwards. Maybe this won't be easy to understand. But I want to go backwards

to what Karl Marx believed to be the fall of man without making this two abstracts which

I would love to do. What Karl Marx says is human self-estrangement. Human self-estrangement.

So remember for Karl Marx, man is his own God. So human self-estrangement, the estrangement

of man, let's say with a lowercase M from man with, let's say, a capital M, human self-estrangement
