co-host David Feldman, the man who will be taking over for Kathy Griffin on

CNN's Rock in New Year's Eve with Anderson

I was hoping for real time with Bill Maher, but I'll take that.

Okay, very good.

Today we are going to do something different than the normal politics. We are going to take a very deep dive into a consumer issue everyone should know about, especially if you've ever had or know anyone who has had hernia surgery,

listen closely because there is a procedure out there that uses a particular mesh device

that has the potential to cause a lot of problems.

And in fact, I know somebody personally who has an ongoing

horrific experience with this.

We are going to discuss that with Jane Acri, founder and editor of the Mesh Medical News Desk.

We'll also be joined by hernia surgeon Dr Robert Ben David from Ralph's

favorite hospital, the Sholdeis Hospital in Toronto, Canada. But let's first introduce Dr. Robert Ben David. He is a leading

hernia surgeon and past president and a founding father of the American Hernia Society.
