Now, Jewish people across Britain, of course, reeling after the anti-Semitic attack on a synagogue in Manchester.

One Jewish worshipper was killed by the attacker, another shot dead during the whole attack by police,

but nonetheless, you know, several of the worshippers

injured by the attacker. It's very, we don't obviously know the exact circumstances on

terms of motives, but it's very clear it's an anti-Semitic attack, which has caused horror.

Now, in the aftermath of that, very swiftly, opportunistically, it's been used to call for the suppression of the movement in solidarity of Palestinians and against Israel's genocide.

Now, I'm really honoured to be joined by Emily Stevenson from Namod, the incredible movement here in Britain of Jewish Brits who are fighting against the genocide,

fighting for human rights, for universal liberation, and, you know, in the best

traditions, of course, of the Jewish left, which helped build the left, full stop.

Emily, it's great to speak to you. First, the love and solidarity. I know this is a,

this is a horrific time. Hi, yeah. Thank you. Thank you so much for having me. I really appreciate

you having me on. And yeah, thank you so much as all for the message of love and solidarity.

It's really appreciated.

I mean, can I just start by just giving a kind of sense of the kind of the shock, the horror,

particularly given, of course, this is a very important moment in the Jewish calendar.

And many people who I spoke to friends with synues, when they found out security offices coming in to alert people. I mean, just what kind

of, you know, how would you sum up the kind of sense that many, many Jewish bits who understand

me feeling right now? I think a lot of Jewish people in the UK, and this is across the entirety of the political and religious spectrum, feel incredibly vulnerable right now.

I think a lot of people feel very shaken.

And I think there is kind of an element of this inherited trauma, ancestral trauma for a lot of people who are very, very scared

about the future of Jewish life in Britain. I'm very scared about the rise in all forms of

racism that we're seeing across the UK and I'm feeling particularly targeted. I think as well,
