This week we embark on a series about forgiveness and reconciliation.

We're a nation that's supposed to be coming back together right now and there are obvious

questions about that.

How do you even begin and what is forgiveness?

And then there's harder questions.

What if you can't forgive?

And what about those times when forgiveness hasn't been earned or asked for?

And what about when reconciliation isn't the right path?

What if someone has done something unforgettable?

I feel like these are questions we're all thinking about to one degree or another, but mostly

in the context of politics.

And we'll talk about that on this season.

But we're going to try to answer those questions about forgiveness and a post-Trump America

by looking at forgiveness from a lot of different angles and as many different contexts as possible.

Interpersonal forgiveness, like when an adult child tries to come to terms with a negligent

parent.

And of course, racial reconciliation and reparations.

Reparations for the Tulsa massacre and the land back movement for indigenous people.

And I want to push the metaphor here to ask about climate change.

Have we damaged the planet too much to make that relationship whole again?
