Summary

In 1920s fictional London, a troubled girl named Cruella met a newspaper writer named Isaac who travels and collects interesting personal stories, where she told him her classic Cinderella tale about how her mother locked her up because of self preservation. But as Isaac showed Cruella the most important thing he had and whisked her away to a place where Cruella's mother and her dogs can never find them, Isaac later realized that the angel he danced with was actually a killer. Back in Storybrooke at present, just as Regina gained an upper hand over Rumple, Cruella kidnaps Henry, setting Emma on a path exactly where the Dark One needed her to be.

0:37.4	And I'm Jacqueline. And Jeremy couldn't make it this night, but we are happy to have Jacqueline joining us. This has been an interesting episode with Once Upon a Time. And I feel like it's two backstories in one. Do you guys get that impression, too? Yeah, for sure. Yeah, same. But at the same time,
0:56.3	I was thinking, well, wait a minute. No, this is really Cruella's backstory. So that leads me to think we
1:03.7	may still get Isaac's backstory. I think there's something more to tell about him. We don't know when he was chosen to be
1:13.6	the author or anything about his family life. So yeah, I think there might be a story there.
1:18.7	So let's dig into the story, starting with the past. When Young Curella was running away,
1:24.7	I think we all had that first thought of, oh, this is the mother's
1:28.6	fault or like the mother is the one with the magic. She's controlling the dogs. But everything we see
1:33.2	about the mother in this episode is really, she's just a great dog trainer. I really think no magic
1:39.7	involved. Yeah, I would agree with that. My first thought was actually Alice in Wonderland for this scene when she's running through the forest. But then obviously we found out that it was Cruella. But the blue dress and the time period, it all reminded me of that. And, you know, they've been teasing us with a lot of Alice in Wonderland stuff this season. So I thought maybe we were going to get to see that.
2:03.2	Well, you know, it's kind of funny you say that, Aaron, because the actress who played
2:07.3	Young Cruella, Millie Wilkinson, actually played Alice's daughter in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
2:12.9	in that series finale. Yeah, in the series finale and they lived.
