Let's tell the story of 16-year-old Sybil Ludington.

Everyone knows the story about Paul Revere's famous ride on horseback

in Massachusetts warning of British troops, but do you know that a couple years later in Connecticut,

Sybil Ludington also rode on horseback, also rode overnight,

she rode some 40 miles twice as long as Paul Revere did

to warn continental troops of advancing British forces. The British were kind of

caught off guard. They were pushed back to the sea pretty significant defeat a couple years

into the Revolutionary War but unlike Paul Revere there were no big poems about Sybil's

midnight ride no towns named after her no postage stamps or mini series

Sybil Luddington does not appear in the 2012 video game Assassin's Creed 3

but Paul Revere does so shocking what What gives? Let's figure out why Sybil Luddington's name

doesn't ring in the ears of school children throughout the Northeast at least.
