so yesterday Minnesota unveiled a newly designed state flag after months of

deliberation. It's a much simpler design with two contrasting blue halves

punctuated by a star, but we have a resident Minnesota expert here, so I would be remiss if I didn't get your opinion on it, Kyle. Do we like it?

I love it, and in fact I did research as a true Minnesota does, and the word of the day is vexological.

It's people that love flags or into flag design, and there's apparently five principles.

It's keep it simple. Use meaningful symbolism.

Use two or three basic colors.

No lettering or seals and be distinctive or be related.

I think they nailed it, so I'm a big fan of the new flag.

It checked all the boxes. that's so interesting. Thank you

for teaching that word too. But as part of the new flag commission process they

opened up this design competition to the public which resulted in thousands of

less than stellar submissions,

a lot of hand-drawn stuff from kids,

one had the Lochness Monster on it.
