Suzanne Lyle was a 19 year old student at the University of New York at Albany.

She was a computer major but also a passionate poet who loves sharing her writing with others.

On the night of March 2nd, 1998, she got off the bus at the Collins Circle

stop on university property and headed toward her dorm. She was never seen again. I'm at Denzel and this is

unfound. Oh, Do any of you know what a transitional space is?

It's the area between your car and that Starbucks location. It is the area between your

apartment and a subway car. It is the area between your office building and your car. It is the area

that you have to walk leaving your apartment if you want to walk down the street to the

grocery store. It is a place where you are outside, you're generally alone you're focused on getting to wherever you're going and

generally you're also not paying attention to your surroundings.

I bring this up because you start thinking about it and you say to yourself,

well, if that's the case, then there are a lot of transitional spaces in my life

and I'm here to tell you that those transitional spaces in your life or the places where you are most likely to be

abducted, to be murdered, to be kidnapped, and to disappear, just like in this case of Suzanne Lyle.

She was in a transitional space going from the bus to her dorm.

But the reason those areas are so dangerous is because it's harder for a criminal to break

into somebody's house to assault a woman,

and this usually happens in these cases.

Rarely are men sexually assaulted, let's say.

Not saying it doesn't happen. But you're behind a locked door or

if in your car you're behind a locked door of your car. If you're at your work you're

with other people if you're at your work, you're with other people, if you're in the grocery store, you're with other people.
