This week, Dan and I, Rachel Clinton, continue looking at how spiritual abuse hijacks our minds by fostering suspicion toward God, each other, and even our own hearts.

As we confront these painful topics, we pray that we would all begin to find the

wisdom and kindness of God in surprising and unexpected places.

We're addressing a very significant issue, Rachel Clinton and I.

We began talking about the role of mind control.

And I said in the last podcast that we would move on to the body.

But you were gracious to say, you know what?

I think it might be really wise.

I mean, just even that, that simple thing of, I wasn't thinking well.

And you corrected and offered another direction.

It's just to not be in a spiritual or an emotionally abusive relationship with friends, with

others.

I mean, just saying again, yay, thank you. High five, my friend. So

we're going to actually start to think through some of the implications of the consequence

of being in a mind-controlled, spiritually abusive world and then try to begin to put words to

what is that we are to begin to do to help our own

heart, mind and body move to freedom. So what do you see to be some of the consequences that come

from this form of spiritual abuse? I would say one of the most pervasive consequences is fear.

A fear to explore, to question, to rethink.

And it's not just like a, oh, I'm afraid that these thoughts will lead to doubts, or there's a genuine, because of the mind control, a genuine,

primal, very embodied fear that if I question, if I explore, if I rethink, I'm going to have
