Well, what's up, everybody? Scott and Lindsey here back with episode three of Survivor Mania for season 43 of Survivor Lindsey. How are you?

Annoyed. Everyone needs to blame Scott for why we're getting this up the day before the next episode. We got the kids to bed so early last night and he decided to go to bed early instead of recording with me after promising that we would record a student he got back from his trip.

Well, Scott had to get up 5 p.m. or sorry 5 a.m. Pacific to make a 8 a.m. flight fly cross country come back and I will admit that when I put Brock down to bed and he fell asleep cradle to my arms that I fell asleep as well and felt like it was best to sleep off the jet lag be ready to rock for Tuesday then to wake myself up do the podcast get all energized this and that and then kind of throw myself back into into a frenzy.

I'm sure people will understand the yes this is on a bit of a delay, but if we were going to be on a delay for an episode this is probably the one this wasn't the wasn't the craziest episode of Survivor, what do you think?

I have a different take than you. I thought there was a lot of strategy in this episode.

Okay, then tell us digress. What is the what is the strategy that stood out first of all.

Carla is stepping forward here as a strategist. We saw what she was able to do with her beware advantage.

She we saw her go back and forth between whether or not she was going to open it. She showed a lot of patience.

I thought to decide whether or not to do it. I thought that was interesting to go and sort of hype like hypothetically present it to her cast mate to see whether or not they would have been likely in in a James would have in a hypothetically if you found the idol.

What would you do and I think that's you know whether she was just like trying to talk it out with someone I think it's important to sort of see what other people would do with it right because like if you are not going to take it.

You want to make sure that other people aren't going to take it that you're aligned with that might possibly vote with you because then it's it's the same as if you were losing your vote if somebody that you're voting with loses their vote right when the tribe to the small.

So you sort of want to gauge what other people would do to and and if it's going to be a loss vote for your side no matter what then maybe you you seek the reward right.

This might be a pointless question but do you think that this is legitimately the first time that anyone has ever second guest themselves and gone back to get an advantage.

And this is just the first time I showed it because she had a person to talk to me see it and not gotten it because they weren't in like a position to get it without being found out but this you know clearly was she was by herself that wasn't the issue she was.

And it's hard to tell with the timing rate of like whether this was before the challenge or after the challenge and you know not knowing whether or not she was going to need her vote and and how close they were to potentially tribal council and how much work she was going to have to do there.

I think this is the right move here to go for it because she is in such a good position right like if it was someone else I might question it but it seems to me like Carla is in the best position on that tribe she has the the most options here to go with and doesn't seem like she's on anyone's radar so.

I think this was the right call here and then it was really cool you know like some people differ about whether or not it would be fun to see people do different challenges here to get this idle I like the consistency of which it's everyone doing the same challenge here with the beads and seeing how they go about it in different ways what I thought about the showed for Carla is that she knows her tribe mates really well she's forming genuine connections and she's truly listening and she's.

She was able to use sort of specific knowledge of each person to figure out what that person would most want or bargain for and so I thought this was really well done you know whether or not again like their their their radar is not up for whatever reason about it.

I think in like it's easy for us to be like oh that acting was like a little force but I think I think she did a good job without her without everybody knowing what was going on I thought it was fine it was just fine enough without pushing it too much.

I don't need see I'll be honest since we basically saw the same exact thing transpire with Cody going into a tribal where they actually needed it and he used it and thus the suspense was building and we saw the whole give and take with the with the you know the what are they called the whatever the root BC has to collect I didn't need it again from Carla like I did find it interesting the idea that she left it and we got that beat where we're like oh she left it so differently and I'm right like like Cody sort of did this.

Like goofy I'm silly everybody help me do the silly thing whereas Carla did something like really sincere for her you know her partner I thought that was awesome that she just like made up her partners birthday and use hopefully like she doesn't get caught in it for whatever reason later on when she's like talking to someone about something.

But I you know I thought that was really well done in the way she sort of played into the sincerity and the relationships that she's formed and sort of like the individual you know one on one strength that she has with people.
