Summary

The Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC) is concensus document that attempts to provide the best evidence to assist in the care of the septic patient.  All providers who provide care to the septic patient should be aware of the contents of the SSC.

Today I want to talk about an article that is already heavily quoted and will be quoted

for quite some time and that is the surviving sepsis campaign.

Now this appeared in critical care of medicine back in January of this year and this is the

revision of the initial guidelines that were published back in 2004.

This is a large multinational cooperative to try to identify what are the currently best practices in management of the

septic patient.

And based on evidence that we have currently in the literature, there are numerous authors

on this paper and numerous organizations to give you a sense of some of the cooperating
