Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Today is the first Monday of the month and we dedicate every first Monday to grandparents.

And we have an important relationship with a wonderful Catholic apostolic apostolic apostolic

called Legacy of Faith. Their goal is to encourage grandparents in becoming more

intentional about passing the Catholic faith down to future generations. And that's because grandparents really matter. They have a

critical role to play in the spiritual lives of their adult children and their

grandchildren. So on the first Monday of every month,

we especially invite all grandparents to join us,

praying the rosary for their adult children, for their grandchildren, and for the conversion of all.

One of the questions St. Thomas Aquinas asks is,

Why did God take so long to become incarnate and save us?

In other words, why didn't God become man immediately after Adam and Eve sinned?

Why didn't he save us right away?

Why did he leave us to be lost in sin? And in so many different errors of paganism and idolatry and moral weakness

for so long?

Well the answer Aquinas gives is that the human race had to know its own powerlessness

against sin before it would accept Christ as the only solution to the ultimate problem of life.

Otherwise, we would ignore the Lord.

I mean, why would I need his help if I could just save myself?

And what's true of humanity in general is true for us in particular.

For Christ to come and save us, we first have to be convinced of our own utter powerlessness.
