Good morning. It is Saturday, August the 26th. I'm Ali Velshi. We begin this morning with the fast-moving case against the former twice-impeached, quadrupley-indicted insurrectionist president, and 18 others in Fulton County, Georgia. After holding elected office for just one term, Donald Trump has

been impeached twice. He's been indicted four times in four different jurisdictions. He faces so

far 91 felony counts, including being accused of heading up a criminal enterprise. His mugshot is a visual

representation of how Trump has corrupted American politics for the last eight years.

How often he disregarded the norms, tested the rule of law, and pushed democracy to the brink of

failure. Trump's rapid rise in politics is a reminder and a warning about the corruption of power.

Trump and his 18 co-defendants in Fulton County's sweeping criminal racketeering case

have all now turned themselves in to the local authorities, their reputations having been

tarnished by their association with Trump's desperate attempt to cling to power. Their very

liberty now imperiled. That includes people who had reached great heights

in their careers, like Trump's White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, the former Justice

Department official, Jeffrey Clark, Rudy Giuliani, once named Time Magazine's Person of the Year

and widely admired as America's mayor. Lawyers like John Eastman, Kenneth Cheesbrough, Sidney Powell,

Jenna Ellis, they could have led prosperous lives, but their livelihoods are now in jeopardy for taking part in Trump's scheme.

Meanwhile, all of this has unfolded in Atlanta in another state where Trump tried to overturn the results of the election.

The disgraced ex-presidents' power over the Republican Party could not have been more apparent.

On stage in Milwaukee for the first primary debate of the season, the majority of the candidates

competing to succeed Trump as the leader of the grand old party were forced to acknowledge that

they would support the election of a convicted felon if it came down to that.

And it's looking like it could come down to that.

As Trump remains in deep legal jeopardy for a whole host of serious alleged crime,
