Al started a place called Porter's Call, which is a non-profit that offers free counseling to

musicians and their spouses here in Nashville. We have both benefited from this incredible,

immensely, immensely in this incredible counseling group.

And honestly, Al was one of the first people that we thought about when we started the podcast,

but we're excited that you guys are here, and get to hear Al's wisdom on all things.

So this I have known, I've known this wonderful bearded warrior.

You can't say anything, so I just talk and you listen and smile at how much I love you,

and how much I'm about to brag about him. For I think going on maybe 15 years now, 15 or 16

years, he is a dear, dear, dear, dear friend of mine, a counselor, literally and figuratively,

kind of a second dad. And kind of why, I mean, John, you and I talked about this, kind of why we

wanted to start this podcast was interviews with our friends like this. So, Al Andrews is our

wonderful guest. He is the founder and executive director of Porter's Call, a non-profit in

Franklin, Tennessee, here in Nashville that has offered free counsel support and encouragement

to recording artists since 2001. A 1976 graduate of UNC University of North Carolina Go Tar Heals,

he is a long-life Tar Heal fan. He's a co-author of the Science of Adam, the author of an illustrated

children's book, The Boy that Kite and the Wind, and a Christmas book, A Walk, One, One,

One and a Night that I'm especially fond of. And this is my favorite part, claim to famous

that he has mentioned briefly in a footnote on page 51 of John Eldridge's best-selling book,
